Avocado Turkey Burger

Long before the rest of America caught on to the glories of avocado, Californians were accustomed to eating them in all sorts of ways, most notably on a traditional burger. Here, avocado’s rich creaminess makes a good thing even better.

  • 1 (16-ounce) package APPLEGATE® WELL-CARVEDTM Turkey Burgers
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • Chipotle mayonnaise
  • Red leaf lettuce
  • Sliced ripe tomatoes
  • 1 large ripe avocado, pitted, peeled, and sliced
  • Thinly sliced red onions


  1. Grill the burger patties over a moderately-high gas or charcoal grill until browned and cooked through.
  2. Spread the insides of the buns with the chipotle mayonnaise, then top the bun bottoms with leaves of lettuce, tomato slices, and the patties. Top the patties with the avocado and red onion slices; close up with the bun tops. Serve at once.
